Six JCSS Educators Awarded Bright Ideas Grant
Six Jackson County School System middle school educators were awarded the Bright Ideas Grant from Jackson EMC.
East Jackson Middle School's Justin Youngblood, Vicki Huff and Heather Wilbanks were recipients, along with Legacy Knoll Middle School's Meg Barber and Amanda Frary and West Jackson Middle School's Tonia Harbin.
Huff Youngblood were each awarded $2,000. Youngblood, an agricultural teacher, for Roots to Results, while Huff for Introductory Coding Exploration. Wilbanks received $1,500 for Literacy Without Borders.
Barber was awarded $500 for Empowering Student Voices, while Frary was awarded $1,083 for Assistive Technology Cart Project. Harbin was awarded $1,965 for Electrifying the Future.
